Peter Wellington MP

Independent Member for Nicklin

My Background

Born on August 21, 1957, I grew up on my parents farm at Belli Park in the Sunshine Coast hinterland and attended the Kenilworth Primary and Noosa District High schools.

At 16, I left school to become a police cadet and after graduating as a policeman decided to study law.  After graduating from the Queensland University of Technology as a solicitor I resigned from the Police Force to practise law in Nambour.

In 1994 I was elected as a councillor to Maroochy Shire Council and in June, 1998 became the Independent Member for Nicklin.

My wife Jenny and I live on our farm at Belli Park not far from the family farm where I grew up.

When I am not in Parliament, working in my office in Nambour or in the electorate, I enjoy messing about with old farm machinery.

I enjoy tinkering with old machinery in my spare time and was delighted to be able to work on this old tractor before it was donated to one of our local historical groups

My Family

I always enjoy time spent at home on the farm with Jenny and the family.

We also love spending time with the grandchildren.

Wellington's Army

I thank the wonderful people who have helped me over the years.
